Message from Director-General - Friends of Israel Sci-Tech Schools
Home » Message from Director-General

The opening of a new school year creates a fresh atmosphere of creativity and initiative, renewed energy and a profound belief in our mission and in the vision of our wonderful educational endeavors, with the goals, desires, realizations for building a future generation imbued with values, virtues, achievements and excellence.

At my many recent appearances before large audiences and in the media I have talked about what makes our network unique, what makes us a family.

It is no longer just about standardized education, but rather about innovative, breakthrough education with groundbreaking ideas and projects.

We should be proud that we are an apolitical educational network, focused entirely on education, that we serve the entire population of Israel and believe that every girl and boy in the country must have equal opportunities in education.

For many years we have continued to wave the two banners that guide all our activities: the banner of values – love of the country, respect for others, giving, bridges to peace, Jewish identity, strengthening heritage – all in order to enhance the social resilience of the country; and the banner of innovation-oriented science and technology studies, leading to economic horizons and independence for the individual student, which directly impacts the economic strength of the entire country.

The Israel Sci-Tech Schools Network now manages over 250 educational institutions. Its main goals for the coming years are to initiate innovative projects in education, prepare work plans and implement them within the network.

This is true for holistic education, which is already operating in four towns, Year 13 for minority populations, increased work in the Bedouin settlements, continued development of innovative curricula for brain sciences, i-STEAM, finance education, nanotechnology, cyber studies and more, some of which enable a reshaping of the organizational structure of the school, including multi-age studies, breaking through the traditional classroom framework.

We are working to give many populations access to practical engineering and academic studies, and we are developing villages for ultra-orthodox youth.

Today, Israel Sci-Tech Schools is focusing on Startup Education – innovative and creative ventures to be developed, implemented and externally evaluated by leading academic institutions, in the hope that if they prove worthy and advance our youth, they will be adopted in the future by the Ministry of Education.

I stand with all eight thousand Israel Sci-Tech employees – principals, teachers and administrative staff alike, to devote ourselves to the tasks before us; to lead innovation, quality, and values, to cultivate and advance our next generation through the investment of your efforts so that the State of Israel can reach higher both socially and economically.

Sincerely,
Zvi Peleg
