We’re honored to share that The Times of Israel recently published a moving piece highlighting a new dining hall at Israel Sci-Tech Schools in Kiryat Gat — dedicated to the memory of Staff Sergeant Roi Marom z”l, who was tragically killed in Gaza in 2023.
The article, titled “To Eat, to Learn, to Remember,” tells the story of how Roi’s dream of supporting at-risk youth has been brought to life by his family and the school community. Before his final mission, Roi expressed a heartfelt wish: to create a space that would nurture not just bodies, but also minds and spirits.
Thanks to this powerful vision, the new dining hall is more than a place to eat. It’s a place where students can feel safe, supported, and inspired. With features like a coffee corner for informal conversations and a storytelling wall for sharing life experiences, the space embodies Roi’s belief in human connection and community.
This project stands as a testament to the values at the heart of Israel Sci-Tech Schools: education, resilience, and remembrance.
We invite you to read the full article here and join us in honoring Roi’s legacy.
